This process allows curcumin (C21H20O6) to convert into tetrahydrocurcumin (C21H24O6), a more stable and bioaccessible form. Our formulation is based on transforming curcumin (C21H20O6), naturally present in the turmeric root, into tetrahydrocurcumin (C21H24O6) through a 100% natural, clean, and safe process.

We use acetic acid (CH3COOH) derived from apple cider vinegar as a natural hydrogen donor, applying carefully controlled heat and pressure, without the use of metallic catalysts or synthetic chemicals.

Heat and pressure are key to activating curcumin’s molecular bonding system, allowing acetic acid to function as a partial hydrogen donor and enable the reduction process that naturally forms tetrahydrocurcumin.

The transformation of calcium oxalate (CaC2O4) into soluble calcium (Ca2+), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and water (H2O) occurs through the reaction of acetic acid (CH3COOH), regardless of its natural source, for example, apple cider vinegar, combined with heat and pressure applied over controlled periods of time.

Our formulation is fundamentally different from conventional approaches. While many scientifically published methods for converting curcumin into tetrahydrocurcumin rely on heavy metals, chemical solvents, or hydrogen gas as sources of hydrogen atoms, our process follows a natural pathway.

We transform curcumin into tetrahydrocurcumin by leveraging hydrogen atoms derived from acetic acid, naturally present in apple cider vinegar. Under carefully controlled conditions of heat and pressure, these hydrogens become available and are incorporated into the curcumin molecule, enabling its natural conversion into tetrahydrocurcumin.

This 100% natural process is designed to enhance the purity and functional potential of our turmeric-based liquid superfoods.

Our scientific innovation is protected under the international patent application PCT/MX2025/050029, titled:

“Method for producing tetrahydrocurcumin free of oxalates and heavy metals using food-grade vinegar (acetic acid and water), heat, and pressure, from curcumin without the presence of metallic catalysts”

Following this process, we emulsify (encapsulate) tetrahydrocurcumin with piperine from black pepper, together with apple cider vinegar, to create the foundational base of our formulations.

In select formulations, we also incorporate ginger to further support the formulation’s functional profile.

The result is what we call “Activated Curcumin”, a formulation designed for up to 50x (5,000%) enhanced bioavailability compared to conventional curcumin.

Because tetrahydrocurcumin with piperine is complex terminology for everyday use, we refer to this optimized blend simply as Activated Curcumin.
