Our co-founder, Ian Wolff, is a chemical engineer with a strong background in formulation science and a long-standing interest in wellness and nutrition.
While studying the pharmacokinetics of curcumin, Ian identified a fundamental challenge: conventional curcumin is poorly absorbed by the body due to liver metabolism and limited bioavailability. In nature, it is primarily the gut microbiota that converts curcumin into tetrahydrocurcumin, a more bioaccessible form.
Driven by this insight, Ian set out to develop a natural, clean, and scalable solution to optimize curcumin absorption.
The result was a patent-pending formulation that partially converts curcumin into tetrahydrocurcumin through a carefully controlled process using food-grade ingredients.
From this innovation,
Activated Curcumin was born.
Activated Curcumin refers to a highly bioavailable form of curcumin, designed to be absorbed more efficiently by the body. It is created by partially converting curcumin into tetrahydrocurcumin through a patent-pending process that uses hydrogen atoms derived from acetic acid naturally present in apple cider vinegar as a hydrogen donor, applied under carefully controlled heat and pressure.
This optimized curcumin form is then combined with piperine from black pepper, a well-known compound that supports curcumin absorption.
That’s why the Activated Curcumin found in TURMERIBLENDS is thoughtfully formulated to provide enhanced bioavailability and functional support, making it a more efficient option compared to conventional curcumin formulations.
Using this foundational technology, TURMERIBLENDS has developed a growing family of liquid superfoods formulated with Activated Curcumin, designed to fit seamlessly into daily wellness routines.
